# 2 Homosexuality and cinema's golden age of Hollywood to today
The fifties were, especially the United States, the era of perfection at all costs, the realization of the dreams of a clean and quiet life after the war. Often, this obsession with the high (pseudo-) moral values led, naturally for the era of small all'insabbiamento fact that it was better not to show. Since the cinema is the mirror of society in all its forms, even Hollywood has followed this wave of respectability. screen men were always perfectly combed and dressed, elegant and polite, and all ended up getting married. There was something different from marriage between men and women. At this juncture we can start by placing the film "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (1958). Against the backdrop of the classic Tennessee Williams melodrama familiar to move the characters of Maggie (Elizabeth Taylor) and her husband Brick (Paul Newman). Brick is a former football player who resists the attentions of his wife and drinks. E 'in a constant depression over the death of his friend and former teammate Skipper. At least, that's what was shown in the film. Since the Thirty, in Hollywood, there was a code of regulations, the Hays Code, which literally prevented the producers, directors and screenwriters to stage sexuality. Let alone a "sexual perversion" as homosexuality. In Williams' original play the character of Brick is depressed because the man he loved is dead. Also in drama Skipper tries to seduce the wife of Brick for the latter to take care of him. These two focal points have been altered, literally: Skipper is no longer the object of desire but a "friend" and the attempt at seduction is no longer a disturbance of a sexual nature but a disappointment with Friend's myth. Version film, although it is nice to look at and very well interpreted, it is ridiculous. The first film to speak directly about homosexuality was done, oddly enough, a year after the aforementioned film with Paul Newman in 1959. This time the film was directed by Joseph L. Mankievicz, one of the greatest directors in Hollywood "alternative" and strangely social engagement, and based on a play of Tennessee Williams always great. The homosexual person, the fulcrum of the story, the film was never shown, if not behind, no voice, and the story begins after his mysterious death. Concerned about the mental health of ex-girlfriend of her son, who by chance is called Sebastian (San Sebastian often appears in religious representations as an effeminate boy), his mother Violet decides to call a doctor to bring the girl to a lobotomy. The reality is that the mother wants to prevent the girl child on the face of uncomfortable revelations died. Sebastian is described by Violet as a poet, a lover of fine clothes and always in the company "of young men." While the film is merely reiterating the established stereotype of homosexuality (oppressive mother, absent father, solicitation of children) on the other enters into a social context where the terrible secret is not so much homosexuality in itself, but in mother-child relationship and the crowds non-acceptance of Violet's sexuality Sebastian. E 'curious see how Sebastian died in a similar manner (though much more chilling) to Pier Paolo Pasolini. In the sixties there is little interesting topic on the world. Also in Hollywood was shot in 1960 "Psycho" by Alfred Hitchcock in which the murderess has not mentioned homosexual tendencies. Hitchcock had some recurrence in placing side by a veiled homosexuality to crime and murder. This can be seen in the interesting "Rope" in 1948 (filmed in pianosequenza) and the beautiful "Rebecca's first wife" of 1940.
From the seventies onwards we are witnessing a growing interest in the cinema towards this topic. One can not quote the film masterpiece "Death in Venice "by Luchino Visconti in 1970. In this movie, which consists of a collection of images and music of the highest possible lyricism, the composer Gustav von Aschenbach falls in love with the beautiful (and young) Tadzio. More than a kind of carnal desire the composer is a love of beauty in general and then for the art. Also in Italy, in the late seventies, the film is "The vice" historical demonstration of what the Italian company believed (and some still think) of homosexuality. The 1978 film shows a highly effeminate and flamboyant homosexual according to the dictates of popular culture of the South (Naples, for example, effeminate gay men are called "femminiello). In the eighties, the only relevant example is "The Law of Desire" (1986) by Pedro Almodovar. The film told in a masterly fashion, fun, very dramatic but also a gay love story. Always remaining on the register of melodrama that was later made famous extremely Almodovar, the film is the greatest example of love story between two men. The remainder of this decade, there has been a kind of oblivion on the subject. This is probably due to the spread of AIDS virus that has not only led to disastrous consequences, but also a major step backwards socially. Were consolidated in the nineties the gay and lesbian liberation movements. In conjunction with this it is interesting to highlight the case of "The Silence of the Lambs "(1991, Jonathan Demme). The film was accused by gay and lesbian associations (GLBT) to be homophobic because it kills the murderess of the girls to dress as a woman. In fact in the film itself is clearly expressed through the character Hannibal Lecter, the murderess is not homosexual. To prove this you can bring Lecter's quip: "He thinks he's a transsexual. He probably believed to be many things in his life ...". The director Jonathan Demme was deeply impressed by this vicious attack on the film, so in 1993 turned "Philadelphia" a decidedly pro-gay movie and very touching that the souls of riapacificò all. Since the nineties onwards, the situation Film (And of course the company) has led to increased production of films in full or in part in homosexual theme. The progress made by the company may also notice the amount of gay characters in the most popular way in the world: TV. In 1994 it was the film "Heavenly Creatures," directed by Peter Jackson. It 'a very poetic film and cruel. It 's the story of two girls and their love thwarted by overprotective parents and conservatives. The ending, as in all cases of frustration of the passions, can only be tragic. It 'a movie to watch not only for the history and the director, Peter Jackson, but also for a new, mature, poised between the splatter films that have made known and the consecration of "The Lord of the Rings." Among the nineties and early twenty-first century have produced countless films with mixed results. 2004 is the year of the masterpiece "Mysterious Skin" by Gregg Araki. It 's the story of two boys in search of the truth about their past. It 's a cruel film, visceral, sometimes a bit' too much in the psychological and physical violence, but written and directed masterfully. In 2005 came out the movie "Brokeback Mountain", acclaimed by critics, and an amended title and itchy in Italian. It was wrongly considered a "masterpiece" for the following reason: if you want to tell a story of love must also work if you change the characteristics of the characters. It must be universal. In this case, if the characters involved were a man and a woman would not have even a tenth of that was hype. And that stinks terribly of business strategy. It 's a film for the people, as well as in literature can be found in the corresponding series of romance novels "Harmony", but probably these are written much better. The main flaw is therefore to be scripted and badly missing. The film takes place in a period of twenty years and the maximum physical aging of the protagonists are a mustache and sideburns hairpieces. This goes to show how Hollywood is not serious in regard to the physical sacrifices of the protagonists in favor of a more serious characterization of the story and characters. "Brokeback Mountain" is also a sincere little movie because it seeks to overturn the stereoticpo cowboy macho, when in reality is a recurrent fantasy erotic gay imagery from the seventies, a story in favor of empty and inconclusive. Not to mention some jokes that frankly painful and can be easily interpreted as a double meaning, making spring the hilarity of everyone (for example, "You've never taken a fish!"). Moving on to better films like "Transamerica," you may end up talking about the wonderful film "Crazy" in 2005 by Jean-Marc Vallée. The film is the long history of acceptance of Zachary, and is the one perfect example of how a boy in the sixties passes through the various periods of frustration through music. You can then divide the film into four parts corresponding to four kinds of music: the discovery of sexuality (glam-rock), sexual confusion (punk), depression (dark), promiscuity (disco music). If there had been a fifth would have been: alienation (electronic). In any case, the film ends in the best way, helped by an amazing director, and sometimes are full of visionary.
It 'good to conclude stating that you are talking about homosexuality in the cinema and not "gay cinema". The movie is gay ghetto, addressed to a limited audience and does not want to be known outside. E 'self as well as anticinematografico not disclose and does not show anything new, does not give any occasion for anyone. To demonstrate the existence of this type of film just look in stores that sell DVDs, many of them there to "queer."

# 1 Phenomenology of the dark lady
Brief introduction / justification
If I did not write for a long time it was for "technical" reasons, which unfortunately does not depend on me. In any case I think it is appropriate to apologize to the people who read / read this blog.
Until some time ago I wrote the movie reviews every Friday, I think. Well, the review does not form- satisfies me more. Nevertheless, not abandoned, nor writing, nor is the argument that, in a sense, my faith: the cinema. So, since I love challenges, I decided that I begin to write "essays". This is my new way of writing is so presumptuous, but it gives me more satisfaction because I can certainly talk about things more and more movies at once. This type of "form" has a negative which is a bit 'long-winded and even more boring then I will surely have less "later." But I am a selfish person, and not the author of a best-seller. I write for me. Of course I will take a little 'more time to write, and then it is said that every week I write something.
Regarding the proposed text below confess to have written long ago and have already published. I only slightly revised where needed. In short: it is "heated soup." But here it is.
dark lady dark lady of the concept is, as the term itself, which is inseparable from the dark. Obviously you are not speaking of either 'dark' in a literal sense nor in the modern sense. Lately we tend to confuse the dark lady with the dark, which are, in fact, girls who dress and makeup with dark shades and listening to a type of music that evokes the dark atmosphere (like the Cure, for example). But then, what exactly is a dark lady?
We can identify the character of Lady Macbeth of Shakespeare as a prototype of this 'species'. It has well-defined characteristics that tend to become the standard of the characters that will follow in his footsteps. E 'first woman with a strong personality, devious and unscrupulous. Its function in the story is to encourage your spouse, to confirm and exacerbate the ambition to power. Although his body is female, her attitude makes me think of the opposite sex. Saying your prayer to the spirits "That Tend on mortal thoughts," she sacrifices her femininity by giving up two women who typically Breast and breast milk:

and yet, as he had steadfastly
the smiley face on my face, I would have torn by force
my nipple from his bare
keep gums,
and I would splash the brain,
if ever I had taken an oath,
as thou hast sworn to do this!
(I, VII)
Lady Macbeth wants her husband to become king, even though there is nothing selfish in that desire. Macbeth comes as a son reassures him, scolds him when he lacks the will, encouraged him when you feel lost, just like a mother. This
dualism lover / husband / child is now almost commonplace in more or less evident in the film. Let's see how.
The birth of the dark lady film coincides with the birth of noir. The noir had its heyday between 1941 and 1955. This type of film is difficult to describe because of the mix of genres it contains. However, we can identify the applicants / Special offers: photography rather than contrast, muddy textures and sometimes fatal presence of women, the dark lady, indeed.
In "Double Indemnity" (1944, Billy Wilder), Barbara Stanwyck is Phyllis Dietrichson, a woman convinces her lover to kill husband for insurance and then collect the insurance. The character Stanwyck is one of the most successful: it represents pure evil without escape. The first appearance in the scene is in a bathrobe, her hair blond and flirtatious but never vulgar expression. Ankle wearing a bracelet, considered scandalous by the conformists of the time. Not only is it beautiful, it's also intelligent and unprejudiced. Phillis is that her lover were excluded from the personal fulfillment requires that the American dream, were crushed, one by marriage, the other from work. The
Elsa Bannister of "The Lady from Shanghai" (1947, Orson Welles) is a woman oppressed by the rich husband and a cripple, who keeps to himself through blackmail. The ingenuous sailor who falls in love her will be embedded in a complex case of murder, orchestrated, needless to say from her own. This film has several characteristics: first, Rita Hayworth in the role of Elsa and sporting a short blonde hair. Her blond hair is often associated with corrupt woman, both in film and in common places (default = woman wife, mother / blond woman = prostitute), and it is a recurrent element in the shape of the dark lady. The same Marilyn has benefited enormously from this image. The lack of femininity of Rita Hayworth is given by the actions taken by the woman. In one scene we see even dressed as a sailor, pilot boat. This film also has another special feature: Welles kills his dark lady of broken glass, slumped to the ground, wounded and pleading, left to itself without the possibility of redemption. This fact differs from the canon Hollywood stars who wanted to keep a certain grace, even in the moment of death. Take for example, "Double Indemnity": Phyllis dies with a gunshot in the arms of her lover.
In "The Woman Who Lived Twice" (1958, Alfred Hitchcock) Madeleine Elster (Kim Novak) is the object of desire, that will be lost and then found another woman in the form of strangely identical to the first player from James Stewart . The erotic component is strong in this film through a subjective viewer identifies with the character Men looking for women. In many films of Hitchcock's character resolves his Oedipus syndrome punishing the woman, in this case the man not only solve his psychological problems, but punishes the woman for her sins, like a reinterpretation of original sin.
With "The Damned" (1969, Luchino Visconti), the dark lady becomes mature, and aging also increases the wickedness. Visconti staged a sort of revival of "Macbeth" in a German family and powerful just before the Second World War. Sophie Von Essenbeck is the Lady Macbeth of the film that pushes her man to "go all the way along" in a sort of megalomania that alliance will lead to more narrow and suffocating with the Nazi regime. Sophie also has a son who will solve his problems with his mother possessing carnally. She does not seem to be disgusted, indeed, sexual pleasure is mixed into a sort of return to the womb where you can check your child even better.
In recent years the figure of the dark lady has changed a lot: on the one hand there are those who slightly modified the classic woman's beautiful and cruel, the other people in the most unexpected twists. In the first case we can put the two films of David Lynch's "Lost Highway" (1997) and "Mulholland Drive" (2001). In "Lost Highway" the dark lady is half real and half invented. When the imaginary part takes over the main character reveals itself in the most dark and dangerous. In "Mulholland Drive" the dark lady is such only in the latter part of the film. The first part is only a representation due to guilt. The dark lady is not blonde but rather payments, and the whole plot is fitted to the frustration of a lesbian love with devastating consequences. The ill-fated love is not the only theme of the film, there is also a strong critic of the Hollywood star system in the world who use and enjoyment of people in permanent damage, especially women.
Some people, like Almodóvar, has upset the rules of film noir and the same characterization of the dark lady. In "Bad Education" (2004) everything revolves around a character who is not who he claims to be and, hiding this terrible secret, he manipulates those around him and gets what he wants. It 's a perfect dark lady ... man. The character in question is in fact a she but a he. Angel and Enrique, the two protagonists, dig deeper and deeper into the abyss of their education, finding only death. As in all Almodovar films, the passion is the main theme. In this case it is the sick passion of Father Manolo for the small Ignacio that will generate a future of desolation.
Through the centuries, the dark lady had a kind of evolution has gone from being a man woman who wants to become more cruel (Lady Macbeth) to man (Angel). It almost seems that she was able to fulfill his wishes. Absorbing the male is able to become more cruel and reached its murky purposes. In fact, woman or man who is the dark lady will always be an outcast, a 'soul in torment that has been stolen a few liberties, a being who is stuck in mediocrity for a life too ordinary. Where were placed in the wrong context, the dark lady will do anything to get out, but he would always make the wrong way, thereby meeting inexorably to its tragic fate.

Removing Cirgarette Lighter From Ford Focus
Oxygen
Twelve hours. Should get a piece from Istanbul. The airport is so full. I'm a kid, or maybe they are not already more. She is fun. I do not remember well. The plane leaves in half a day. The clouds blot Africa, and there's a tree every now and then. The plane lurches. I want my oxygen mask. I want you to suffocate me, intoxicate me. And as the plane falls apart can not hear people screaming. And the impact with the water is so sweet so sweet. Perhaps only a pool of blood will ransom. It is not like falling down stairs. Why is all confused and I'm so fragile so fragile. And I like to breathe the moments, because it remains only that. I'm just a sentimental fool, but somehow I did not save the soul. And the track is deserted and cigarettes are a white and shapeless heap at my feet. And perhaps it makes no sense to fall in love like a fool, and yet endure all the yelling. And it's hard when you think so quickly. "I give you a hand?" "No, no, I can go down alone." And there are places that make it more terrible childhood. I have always had many secrets. The past is a snail that leaves a trail of sticky, no? And I do not go more than perdermici, because nostalgia is killing me. And could you rape me in the morning air, and for me would be the same. It is to resist, because then you could do to me what you want. You might even see me cry, how come no one saw me, and if I will crumble your fault. And I can not breathe because the rest does not matter anymore. And I want to cut the crap, but I just have to live I just have to die. And it is the surprise, the routine is broken. Certainties, the coldness, the moral. All up in smoke, but it is a wall of paper, after all. And if you're born to burn, well, I have thoroughly fulfilled my task. No joke, because everything is always flat. The oxygen in the mood if you like killing you. It 'a bubble, which rises and empty what is no longer full. And I live in that bubble. Memory, dreams, all mixed. And maybe I dream too much, and I can not tell what is real. And I'm afraid to forget a face, and not to see him when I'm looking for. And the violence re-emerges in the words, in fact. The whip, the leather, in the broken skin. And someone leaves, but is silent and there is no god. And it is a wasted life, if anything, life would do the trick. It 's a wonderful evening, laughing, drinking, there is deluded. There's the same old house is still there, but the ghosts of the past are being held there. There was a hive once. And a little girl drowned. And the devil in the hallways. And the head was cut off and floated in the gutter. It is not skin, is more. Please do not do it. Do not. Do not.

Ah, yes. In the water looks like a mermaid. And to think that ancient sailors thought that the seals were sirens. She was not a seal. Years later she cut her hair and turned red. Non ci vedo bene. Vedo sfocato, saranno le lenti. Sono laggiù, sotto l'albero. Non ti avevo riconosciuto, scusa. Deve come tonight, it's beautiful. He was here two seconds ago, I have not noticed. They are slow, I think. I think we can get, there is already a row. The lake surrounds us, it's so dark. There is a bridge, and chairs. But where did he go? Maybe I was not even noticed. No, I noted how. Yeah. I do not understand what they do here in England. A lighter? Sure. It is not so hot after all. It will be the lake. Yes, I'm with you on the list, I think. Thanks. How many sofas, all white. Bizarre hairstyles, weird clothes. I've made the most of ripped jeans, as that night that I've done three. I have to go to the bathroom, sorry. But we have just entered. I have to go to the bathroom. I do not know if I time to place it somewhere. Shot with mingnolo, so who cares. Here, they are in order. Cry? No, I yawned, yawn when it happens. But where? Ah, there it is figured under the console. Shit, how nice it is. Do not look at him do not watch it does not look at him. Why not look at me look at you? Never mind. You are? Yes, I am. Shit, we fucked at least as you remember it. Yes, ok, good evening. Maybe I am myopic, I see the faces well. Maybe it's bad, it matters little. I like this illusion. And 'High Moor is a white shirt, I think. Jeans. I do not like muscular, but it is just perfect. Do not look at him do not watch it. Shit could be a model. I have to make me pass the mania of the models, I am already done three. Of the steps, we are in the center. Wait for ten minutes, I do not like those arriving late. I'm coming, he says. Better. God is just beautiful. We go on at home? Ok. Yes, it's a beautiful painting, you're good. Oh, it's nice to your ex. I will always be an effort when I stick his tongue in her mouth. Perhaps they do too much. You have a nice profile. Thank you, I hate compliments. Are you good at taking photos, but not to do with it, is something I hate. You have a nice profile. Thanks. I've never seen a bed so low. Japanese will be some bullshit. Japanese cock. Mh, yeah, but it is comfortable. No, I'm not going to get laid, that I want to. Nice poster, but I love that movie. Yeah. Two women, palm trees, a road. I also liked that other, yes. A black woman with a gun. Yes, I will enroll there. They were two unforgettable days. Come back there, do not return? I'll see you around. We feel, hello. You are a bit 'pale. Mh. Hey. What? You are a bit 'pale. Ah, sorry. It 's my natural color, this year did not go to sea. How thin you are. Weight forty-nine. No, I do not go to the bathroom to vomit or something. No, I'm fine. I see a bit 'pale. It 's my natural color. Want to drink? Fuck. Yes, please. I never imagined that he had approached so much. God, I have thirteen years, but my legs are trembling. Thanks, nice of you. I'm going to smoke, sorry eh. But why staring at me? I danced around, too. I'm just shallow. The lake is in the dark is dark. There are shadows that swim below, and my reflection. I am here or are there among the shadows? Perhaps they are carp, are gigantic. They are mice. Every now and bring out their big, long and black tails. And out on the shore. If I dive I could devour me. I'd start hearing a thud, then the wet. And then the little teeth that stick in my leg on the opposite side. Bleed and bleed. I am Jesus Christ. Please pray for us. Lord have mercy ... At home I find myself screaming, maybe someone close call. No, do not call. He pretends not to hear. Or maybe I have not really cried. Cough. Are you ill? No is that I smoked almost a whole package. E 'on the bench under the console, smoking a joint and laughs. He's quite a nice smile. Tooth fairy with a huge laugh and you wind up with your hands while watching it. I do not watch, shit. I have to I have to go to the bathroom. Why this line? Is fucking with her boyfriend. Esco. Stamp. Strange design on the hand. After I delete it with saliva or with water when I get home. But do not burn your lips with the straw of iron? No no mica is a cigarette. I once saw a girl in a bar snorting up a make-up mirror. I laughed. It 's the distance in my eyes. It 's so, it will remain so. Now have a piece of ice. I go out and immerse myself in bleach that are white, my eyes whites. You could hold my head and affogarmici, it tastes so bitter. And then go out all white, so stop telling me I'm pale. Some time ago they said the heroin to disinfect the needle with bleach. And died. Here, affogami. We have to go. I do not have anything left in the cloakroom, I figured. I'm not naive, you know. You have a beautiful room, a mirror serrated. How many books. Do you want to stay here or in the guest room? E 'equal. We smoked a lot of reeds, but I do not laugh. Usually I laugh. Watched a movie and a half. Yes, I liked it. Beautiful colors. Can you cook? Pine nuts are missing. Not a problem. But it is not the same without the pine nuts. It does not matter. You're so beautiful. I'm not naive. I know that there and there we will hear more later. This maybe the last thing I just thought of. Got everything? Mh, who are we waiting for? Oh, shit. Why come here come here. I do not know what to say if I spoke. It 's wonderful, I have not seen anything so beautiful in my entire life. It is not a piece of meat is not a piece of meat is not. I was in front, looks at me, I do not kiss me please kiss. A little 'smell of smoke, but also I believe. He begins to speak, I speak.

Film of the week # 12
1990, David Lynch
with Laura Dern, Nicolas Cage, Diane Ladd, Willem Dafoe
Certainly "Wild at Heart" is not Lynch's best film. But since it is always good to put the film in their historical context, you can certainly say that this is a revolutionary film. This is not a joke, actually four years ahead of style and form that will reveal Tarantino film, and that is with "Pulp Fiction" and "Natural Born Killers." It 'obvious that between Tarantino and Lynch is an abyss between the two can make the distinction between author' empty 'and author of' full '. Tarantino is a blank page, because the audience left the hall alone with a great love for cinema, with the feeling of seeing a good movie (and these days is no small thing), but did not leave anything to think about . Lynch instead manages to combine a quirky entertainment with a stubborn and recurring social criticism and concern of the American province of the human mind.
The story is surprisingly linear for a Lynch film: Sailor, after being released from prison, he finds his girlfriend Lula, but their relationship is thwarted by her psychotic mother. The two, violating probation, escaped to California constantly chased by a killer's mother Lula has hired to kill Sailor.
"Wild at Heart" is not just revolutionary because it has launched the kind of 'pulp' (let's call it that), but also because it seeks to transcend any sort of genre films, because in it there can be find: the melodrama, the road movie, the noir, fantasy, western and even musicals.
element is still a passion for the applicant to Lynch road movie ("The Straight Story" and the "Lost Highway"), since the story takes place almost entirely in the trip, probably on the road of life, where Sailor and Lula will come face to face with the horror of existence. The film is curiously alternating rather than explicit quotations from the "Wizard of Oz", among which the wicked witch, the good witch and the inevitable red shoes. What gives the film a more surreal are the gallery of characters that Lynch has created a most ingenious of the other. On all examples are Marietta, Lula's psychopathic mother played by Diane Ladd (Laura Dern's real mother in real life), always made up and coiffed in an unlikely protagonist in cult and cut the veins in lipstick, and Bobby Peru, played by Willem fantastic Dafoe, disgusting and disturbing as ever as few people ever walked on the big screen.
This film is also an exaggerated use of violence, on the edge of the gore and good taste, so he left and horrified incredulos much of the criticism. The only one who was able to understand the importance of this Bertolucci film was, in his only flash of intelligence in his life that made him win at Cannes.
is interesting to note also the choice of music made by Lynch, mixing the metal (usually much loved by him) to swing the Fifties, by Nicholas Cage to play a few songs himself. From sublime writer
which Lynch has studded this film memorable characters, including that delivered by Sailor "My snakeskin jacket! Have I mentioned that represents my invidual and my belief in personal freedom?" . Attractions
not know the genius of David Lynch, for what is best to start from "Eraserhead" or "Mulholland Drive", but to understand how and why today is cinema in a certain way.

Blood
When around the corner lies the expanse. It has no name, no sex, has no form. It is not. There is a small group of people who smoke and some do not, and look. I smoke. In my uniform up and bored middle-class neurotic sudo, it is very hot. And it is there. There's a truck a little 'later, big, with so many wheels. On the floor are made of white chalk marks, seem to be made at random. There's the siren siren siren. It does not sound, it's just blue, or maybe red. The red bike is upside down but intact. I'm restless to look too long. There is a yellow sheet over the body but could also be a dog. Of course not. Maybe it was a fat man, maybe not. There is a pool of blood under the drape. There is blood everywhere on the concrete. It boils, mixes the stones, the butts, sweat. Outside the bar there is an old lady who smokes. It 'made up with blue eyes and bright red lips, her hair dyed. Do not look at it. Maybe he thinks to fuck. I do not think about fucking. Maybe my haircut is not the best this time. Maybe tomorrow night I will not be beautiful and tidy as I wish. Yes, probably. Maybe I will propose another orgy, or ask me again to be a graduation gift. There is Elvis singing somewhere, but I think in my head. Treat me like a fool Treat me mean and cruel But love me. I wonder if he heard the bones break on the asphalt. I wonder if he understood to die. Septimus has felt the crunch when you are thrown out the window. The bowels are stuck and bled and died. I wonder if the body lying in the street has bled during or after death. I'm a party animal, party animal. I do not drink but I smoke a lot. They asked me if the factories. No, only smoke a lot. It did not smell blood, you see, but does not smell. Perhaps even stink when the body begins to decompose, and death stink with the worms that eat incessantly. I do not eat, do not do nothing. How do you feel good, I'm really in shape. Want to fuck? No. I'm trapped, can not get out, they're so bourgeois bourgeois bourgeois. Bored. And 'hot and I want to explode to pieces. In the midst of trying to cast there are dark lumps, are the pieces. I want to blow up and see me from outside while they are nothing. I want to watch through the eyes of others while they are a robot, and maybe a little fuck 'with the bodies of others. There are no ambulances, there's just people looking bored. Maybe it will say on television, I always say. E 'hypocrite like the time of the funeral, where everyone was crying because she was young, but nobody really knew him. I did not cry, I have not even made the sign of the cross. Even then they said it on television. In reality it was a nasty person. But it was beautiful. All these bodies on the streets, beautiful bodies, bodies awkward. Why the sharp stones, you will stick in the face when you fall to the ground, and hands. We discovered after we
this rod. I never fucked with that. Maybe it's a lie. Both on the couch or bed for me is the same. I like you, do not like you, I like you. I do not know, does not change much. God is above everything, that's it. God will not answer you because there is terrible but so simple. Was inside the truck and the asphalt and in the blood and fucking. Do not touch me, touch me not. It annoys me when someone touches me. I'm beginning to believe that the only entity that I can understand is that which is shapeless and bloody in the street, and that is covered by a yellow sheet, and that everyone looks.

Film of the week # 11
Festen
1998, Thomas Vinterberg
with Ulrich Thomsen, Henning Moritzen, Thomas Bo Larsen, Paprika Steen
First you have to say that "Festen" is not only a great movie, but this film is also very important. And 'in fact the first film that had joined the movement Dogma95, designed by Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg himself. This movement includes a handbook of rules that the director and the crew are obliged to observe. Among these rules can be noted: the director must not be accredited, the camera must be hand-set and lighting must be natural, and so on. It may seem technically 'reactionary' and conceptually meaningless, actually has a function precise, which is to bring the film more true to its origin.
The story is set during the sixtieth birthday of a wealthy patriarch Helge. With all the huge family gathered at the table's son Christian, during a toast, makes a shocking revelation ... The whole story
fool the viewer deeply, which in this case is never bored, but still amused and horrified at the same time. "Festen" is, in fact, a grotesque and violent film. On the other hand is part of the Scandinavian taste love the works which shows the hatred and resentment within the wealthy families. In this case the film could be turned to Bergman, with a camera is not really mobile. Instead the movements are sudden, messy, imperfect. The installation seems almost accidental, it is so frantic and sudden. The film is also formed by many plans-sequence (the scene in continuity and not made up of assembly operations).
Vinterberg dimostra una straordinaria capacità a livello di sceneggiatura, proprio per come è strutturata la storia, e una buona inventiva registica. Compared to Lars von Trier has a style more elegant, almost classical in classic short films he does. Vinterberg is a great director, but von Trier is a genius, this is the difference. The director of "Festen" is destined to remain under the protective wing of the Master in order to survive in the circulation of the authors.
"Festen" lends itself to a political reading quite evident in the unfolding of history. First, the characters are divided into upper middle class and waiters. The first are the 'caste' corrupt and exploitative, second that the pure and good. The revolution, in this case, socialist, can only come from below it are the same waiters to push the troubled Christian to rebel and to help in the undertaking. The acting is beautifully organized in its chorus, as is perfectly calibrated without smudging. Ulrich Thomsen (Christian) is a new kind of dazed and Hamlet, and it is not the only similarity with the work of Shakespeare's masterpiece is in fact English is "Fetsen" are set in Denmark. The film contains numerous social issues, including racism, in a scene hard to forget his deliberate unpleasantness. It 'an analysis of the upper class Danish, hypocritical, alcoholic and corrupt. Perhaps this criticism can be extended to the middle class around the world, without being too much to look at the nationality.

Departure From Pier Head, Liverpool 2010
Film of the week # 10
2002 Far from Heaven, Todd Haynes
with Julianne Moore, Dennis Quaid, Dennis Haysbert
With "Far From Heaven" continues the task of transforming the opera began in the eighties and rarely managed effectively. In this case the operation was perfectly successful.
E '1957, and the life of Cathy Whitaker is perfect: her husband, home, children. One evening, Mr. Whitaker and his wife remains in office has the bad idea to bring him personally dinner. But he is not alone ...
must immediately make an introduction: Todd Haynes is, along with Ozon and a few others, one of the authors of the new generation prometenti. It should be recalled her beautiful "Velvet Goldmine", a tribute to Bowie and reflection on an era of rock.
"Far From Heaven" is not an exercise in style. And it's not a job cold and impersonal. Haynes now offers the tables starting from the headlines that are explicitly taken from the movie fifties. The same film was shot, played and written as if it had been made in that decade. The only dissonant note is to show openly gay husband of Cathy, which is impossible for a Hollywood movie of the fifties (and rare even in modern times). The only movie that cleverly managed to circumvent the obstacle most memorable was the "Suddenly Last Summer." "Far From Heaven" is configured, and then, as a sort of ring closure of a chain, as the apotheosis of the apple and blend of old and new. If your clothes rustling and pompous, hairstyles, colors, titles and credits may seem irredeemably kitsch, in fact they are not at all. The work setting has been done for this film is worthy of the best Visconti, is a perfect historical reconstruction. Even at the script level, in addition to the beautiful and effective lines, there is a strong social critique to the bigoted and racist America and the Upper class residential areas. Note on the usual Julianne Moore, here in the role of heroine in decay, in addition to being probably the greatest living actress, is perfectly set in the role and acts as the stars of the past with the classic hyper or sovrarecitato.
"Far From Heaven" also has much in common with "American Beauty", but without the satirical style that characterizes latter. However, there is a movie for everyone because of the slowness of some scenes and dialogue rather than forced, details that have absolutely no flaws. Let's say that more than anything else who does not love the classics can not love this movie. And this is a classic of modern cinema and a classic of modern perfection.

Mighty Guy 3 On Funbrain
It always rains when I'm happy (and vice versa)
Ok. Spend suicidal yesterday morning, finally go out tonight. So many times a week when I leave the house becomes two. The problem is that it is always bad weather when I have to do something, and, hell, we are in July. I know that God is angry with me for the flood of curses daily. Well, if it existed if it deserves. However, tonight Keep, without stories. After two years. In fact I have some 'anxiety presentation. Ah, how I have gentrified the two-year absence. Then I have to redo the tile arch at a time of hysteria because I cut across. Ok, officially "been lost".
Tonight I dedicate to my favorite sport (and the only always practiced) the lament. What

Difference Between Emu Stinger And Bronte Boots
"Dearest ..."
. I'm sure I'm going crazy again. I am confident that we can not face another of those terrible moments. I begin to hear voices and I can not concentrate. So what do I think the best thing to do. You gave me the greatest possible happiness. Have you been in any sense whatever a man could be. I know that I'm ruining my life. I know that without me you could work and you do, you know ... See I can not even worthy to write these lines ... I want to tell you that I owe all the happiness in my life. You have been infinitely patient with me. And incredibly good. I abandoned everything except the certainty of your goodness. I can not continue to ruin your life. I do not think two people could be happier than it was us.

I really have to admit that this time I'm having fun, as I've probably ever done in my life. Without competition, no nothing. Just fun. I wonder what will last again.
I have rediscovered the ancient art of flirting. Not that I ever was a great hunter, to tell the truth. That is, a technique I will not explain my own now and that always works. Then on Friday at the disco I was spoiled for choice, and say that I'm the picky one. Well, I have collected without contact with amusement, my benefits. Then I feel embarrassed to receive compliments, it's something I've always tried to avoid, but unfortunately they arrive. Besides looks, looks.
back after so long I realize that some people leave empty. Maybe no one today thinks. But my namesake died a year ago, and I doubt that forget it. And say that I've talked a few futile Greetings all. This cursed
stream of consciousness that binds us all is the most terrible and there can be more fantastic.

Best Title For Body Image
Requiem for a Dream
2000, Darren Aronofsky
with Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly
"Requiem for a Dream" draws the viewer for the unwary evocative title. Of course, the word approach to word requiem dream is already thinking of something dramatic. In reality this is a terrible film, which leaves no way out. It 's a challenge to every spectator, because no one knows until the end if it fails to complete the vision. This makes "Requiem" a film virtually unique: such a horror, a knot in my stomach so strong it can only result in "Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom" by Pasolini.
It 's the story of four characters: Sarah, a housewife couch potato who dreams of being an appearance on television, Harry, the son of Sara, a heroin addict who dreams of getting rich peddling along with his partner Tyrone, and Marion, girlfriend Harry, a girl of high society who would do anything for a fix.
ABOVEMENTIONED Just as Pasolini's films, including "Requiem for a Dream" is divided into Dante's infernal circles. If the film by the Bologna group was explicitly mentioned (Antinferno, circle of manias, blood group), in which Aronofsky prefer to divide them into three parts and misleading names: summer, autumn and winter. But the quote Dante is not wrong, the players, as the story unfolds, will experience more and more degrading and self-destructive, as they were in a land hell. The film is about addiction, an addiction more material than spiritual, partly because we live in a consumer society and the materiality of existence is inevitable. This dependence is the result of a fragmented society, a growing malaise, is, if you want to translate the title of the film, the "Prayer for the death of a dream." And of course the question is the American dream, from nothing to become everything.
Fragmentation is made in a flawless by the director, which divides the screen over and over again through the use of split screen. Aronofsky does not just break up the screen, but apply different visual distortions and found some that are truly memorable, and that really list them here would ruin the 'surprise'. This makes "Requiem" more an art installation, a living tableau that film. The directorial choices and the frantic editing video clips from the film make hyperreal, giving the viewer the same feelings that you would taking drugs.
The only flaw of this film is, in part, the choice of casting. Nothing to say about Ellen Burstyn, which is not only perfect for the role, but also gave an interpretation of anthology. Raise some doubts Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly, not for their ability to interpret, mostly because of their physicality. In short, they are too good to do heroin addicts, and health care too.
"Requiem for a Dream" has a huge debt with Lynch, and not to belittle the work of Aronofsky. But without this film David Lynch would never have been done. It also has a sort of bond with the writings of Bret Easton Ellis and Burroughs, not only for the issues discussed, but also for the composition of history itself.
A note of great credit goes to the wonderful soundtrack by Clint Mansell, especially the main theme of "Lux Aeterna", which is similar stylistically to the best Massive Attack.
Symbolically, in this film, has the great importance that all actors in the fetal position, during the course of the story, assume. It 'a kind of willingness to return to the placenta, and then want to start living again, to dream. But this dream is really worth?

Yes, I do not have a license and I'm not going to take it. Let's say I have not taken essentially for the same reason why when I'm at home I'm not going to move from room to the terrace to smoke.

I hate being touched by strangers (okay, even by friends, unless it is explicitly required). I turned angry, just to be told by the old woman sitting: "You can sit the lady." I could not answer that: "If the lady wants to have it sit on its own language to ask." And I sat. Unfortunately, the two continued to have horrible all the way to talk about Iole, of Wanda, but most of the bishops. What a pain.
Today, I took the first penalty of my life. Well, you should always try new things. It 'been fun to see the look of disapproval old. And the controller was not even cute.

Film of the week # 8
1950 Sunset Boulevard, Billy Wilder
with William Holden, Gloria Swanson, Erich von Stroheim
"Sunset Boulevard", he contends, along with "Citizen Kane" and "2001: A Space Odyssey" The first place for best film in the history of cinema. Like most educated literature, cinema also has its classics, and this is certainly one of them.
screenwriter Joe Gillis (William Holden), escaping to the creditors, and arrives at a gloomy old mansion. In this place lives the no longer young and fallen silent film actress Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson). Norma Joe proposes to revise the script that she wrote dreaming the comeback ...
"Sunset Boulevard" is a film dark, cynical but also biting. Those who know Billy Wilder is sure that his scripts are always very original, very critical of certain aspects of society. One need only recall the hilarious "One, two, three!" where, in a still divided in two by the Berlin Wall, Wilder skillfully takes around American capitalism and Soviet communism. In this case the object of criticism is Hollywood, with its ephemeral success, its rigid production systems and the inexorable law of the image, one that gives precedence who is younger and more beautiful about who is actually good. The scene that best represents this worldview the show is when Norma went to visit his old friend the director, but none of the crew to recognize. Is recognized and applauded only when an operator error, the point on a reflector. The Desmond is a character deeply well-characterized, unique and probably unrepeatable, even if sometimes it expires in caricaturist. On the other hand Wilder is one who loves to play with stereotypes and then twist, for example, you can see how these gender roles in "Some Like It Hot." The Desmond lives in a house-shaped tomb perfectly on its image and about the old days of silent cinema. Why why not work more than was in fact the coming of sound, making it obsolete as actress. Meaningful (and memorable) is the standard joke that the first preliminary meeting with Joe, "I am large, are the films that have become small." She is trapped in the role as an actress, says all the time, but does so in the manner of silent films: wide eyes and gestures very pronounced. The life of Gloria Swanson partially coincides with that of Desmond, as the character he plays is one of the greatest actresses in silent films. It is no accident that in "Sunset Boulevard" there is a scene from "Queen Kelly", one of the last silent films that turned Swanson and that led to his downfall. Nor is it a coincidence that the part of Norma's butler in "Sunset Boulevard" is entrusted Erich von Stroheim, director of "Queen Kelly", which will have a decisive role in the plot.
The film is also studded with small guest stars, Buster Keaton in the first place in the small role of a friend of Norma, and Cecil B. DeMille, the director's role in the long-time friend of the actress (and famous film director also in reality).
What makes this film a masterpiece, among other things, the particular use that Wilder did the voiceover. The film begins with the protagonist's dead body floating in a swimming pool (made possible by a magnificent scene of the wise use of mirrors), and his voice-over telling the story. This type of narration was taken with great effectiveness in such films as "American Beauty" or TV series like "Desperate Housewives."

The Meaning Of Colors Of Faith
Film of the week # 7
2006 Volver, Pedro Almodovar
with Penelope Cruz, Carmen Maura
I state at once that Almodovar is a genius. It 's a popular genius, as it could be Billy Wilder. This has greatly influenced Almodovar, especially at the script level.
's the story of four women, between Madrid and La Mancha. From the past of these returns the ghost of the mother / grandmother dead, which seems to reveal something important to their daughters.
"Volver" is without doubt the best films of Almodovar. It 'was a difficult choice' bubble 'as' better', because I think he's one of the few directors to have the 'touch', namely that whatever he does, if not a masterpiece it is very close. In this case it is a masterpiece, I do not know how in the future will make a better film than this (even if you said this already with "All About My Mother").
"Volver," which in Italian means "Return" is a three-fold return. First, the return to origin, the mother and the birth, where everything begins and everything, whether we like it or not, comes around. Then the return, to Almodovar, film-themed after two female strongly male film such as "Talk to Her" and "Bad Education." Finally, you return to a kind of cinema that was in the mid-eighties, such as can be, "What Have I Done to Deserve This?". The similarities between the two films are essentially in proximity to the traditions and customs of the people. If in "What Have I Done to Deserve This?" The story revolves around a housewife and monstrous housing in Madrid, "Volver" in the most popular story goes as such. Some English-speaking countries have the belief that people, once dead, remain close to the living, who has read anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez or Isabel Allende knows what I'm talking about. But does not dwell only on this point, the important part we have the climate, wind and earth. This film has a lot of picaresque English tradition: the wind that makes people crazy, windmills, fire, absurdity.
worth noting the splendid acting of Penelope Cruz in this film better than ever, with a new physicality and built. Almodovar was in fact inspired the character of Raimunda, the Italian majority of the Sixties, like Loren, Gina Lollobrigida and especially Magnani, lauded at the end of the film with a piece of "Beautiful" by Visconti. Therefore, the Cruz boasts a heavy makeup, which gives her very strangely, and a padded seat, with busty breasts (real), gives the classic form of 'hourglass'. I think it's a character so well built and well played to stay immortal, with his beautiful, intense eyes and espressivissimi blacks. A small
and ultimate return is to Carmen Maura, who starred with Almodovar in 1988, with "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown." In this film has aged, but the actress has always been an exceptional time. Almodovar said that she is like Toto, he never made a drama school but it's a great actress.
level directorial Almodovar indulges in every movie, this one uses the usual bright colors, a beautiful photograph and the virtuoso shots from above, that are now his trademark. Despite
as type of film is closer to his first film, not to be seen as a setback. E ', however, surprising a couple and evolution of one of the greatest artists of this century (and the past). It is a 'almodramma', a term coined for his films, where you mix love and comedy in perfect amalgam and fun. This film is beautifully written, thought out as a small bomb, full of suspense, hilarity and numerous plot twists and overwhelming. For this would be unnecessary and detrimental to reveal other details of the plot. All this and much more, makes "Volver" a perfect film, intense and riusciutissimo.

My Cervix Is High And Hard Could I Be Pregnant
OH MY GOD, SHE'S BACK AGAIN.
Almost a year ago, on the occasion of my 23rd birthday, I wrote a blog for the first time.
was fun, most of the time only so many words / crap / useless delusions for which I could not imagine a recipient concerned, and that inevitably sucitavano however comments which then had to respond smartly and shrewdly: trauma for a lazy like me!
Then, in October, nothing. Closed, fine, caput.
The reason is so stupid that still stands a smile on my lips into writing, or you do not know how or do not know why but my ex-boyfriend managed to intercept the journal, other trauma colon- exclamation!
short, only now I felt like returning to write many more words / bullshit / delusions to see how he does, hoping no one "than real life" discover my future electronic fetish.
A bientot.

was fun, most of the time only so many words / crap / useless delusions for which I could not imagine a recipient concerned, and that inevitably sucitavano however comments which then had to respond smartly and shrewdly: trauma for a lazy like me!
A bientot.
